Walked into the park for about a friggin hour just to find a place to sit! When I finally found the benches, which were only supposed to be 1.5 miles in, the sun was 45 minutes away from setting over the east hills. I had a hard time focusing on the drawing because I kept listening for the heavy breathing of a mountain lion as it stalked up behind me. It never did show up though. I sped walk back to make sure I didn't get locked into the park only to discover the parking lot completely full and several people just starting on the trail!

Painting of the Day
Did this one at Pyramid lake. Lots of fog and great atmosphere, but it was super cold and the paint wouldn't dry. Eh...

Went painting with my buddy Matt Pugnetti, of Beastlore fame, at Vasona park. It was a beautiful day out there and it was nice to take some time and sit down for a painting. Each one took about 45 minutes to complete.

I took a trip down to the LA area for the weekend. The above painting is from the Griffith Observatory and the bottom painting was done at a park in downtown Pasadena at sunset. The air pollution really makes for some great colors at sunset.
These last set of images were photos from the observatory stitched together in Photoshop.
